CSU’s safety website is the best place to find campus resources and review all current and past safety alerts.

The Clery Act

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security and Campus Crime Statistics Act is the landmark federal law that requires colleges and universities to disclose information on security policies and timely, annual information about crime on and around campus.

Emergency Text Alerts

Students, faculty and staff may sign up for emergency text alerts. CSU only sends alerts in the event of an emergency on a Fort Collins campus. The system is only used during a safety emergency on the physical grounds of a campus or unexpected closing of the university, such as a snow day.

Support & Safety Assessment

The Office of Support and Safety Assessment promotes health and safety among the CSU community, fostering well-being and supporting community success.

Support & Safety Resources

Tell Someone – Report concerns about your own safety or mental health or those of someone else who is a member of the university community.
Incidents of Bias – Any act of hate or bias is counter to the university’s Principles of Community.
Consultation Teams – Student and Employee Consultation teams take a proactive, objective, coordinated, and supportive approach to identifying, assessing, managing, and reducing behaviors that may be disruptive or pose a threat to the safety and well-being of individuals and the campus community.
Title IX – Focuses on educating all university community members regarding how to prevent, identify, and report sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, gender discrimination, and gender-based violence.

Health & Safety Map

The CSU Map of Emergency Call Boxes and AED shows where Emergency Call Boxes and AED locations are throughout our campuses.

Emergency call boxes are marked with bright blue lights and provide a direct line to CSUPD dispatch with the push of a button. You may use the call boxes in any situation where you feel unsafe or need police support.

AEDs – or automated external defibrillators – are portable electronic devices that detect life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias and treat them through defibrillation. They are designed to be used by non-medical personnel in case of medical emergency when someone has collapsed and is unresponsive or in cases of suspected cardiac arrest. CSU offers AED, CPR and First Aid classes that are open to all faculty, staff, and students.
